I was listening to an interview that Bailey from DC101 had with Chino from Deftones. They talked tour and new album, but she also asked him about the progress Chi was making. Chi Cheng, the bassist for Deftones, was in a car accident back in November of ’08. He’s been in what’s being referred to as a “minimally conscious” state. Chino said in the interview that Chi was making in progress and doctors are still optimistic for as full recovery. The next step is to get him to specialists in NJ. I’d like to use this space to talk about One Love for Chi. Friends, family, and fans have been making donations to One Love for Chi to help with the expenses. The goal for the year is $500,000. If you’d like to make a donation, visit OneLoveForChi.com.

On August 14th, there was a benefit concert at Fairplex in Pomona, California that featured performances by P.O.D. and Brian “Head” Welch (former guitar player from Korn). Proceeds from the show went toward Chi’s medical expenses. They touch on it a little bit in the video below. This is the first part of a documentary on Chi’s accident and recovery process.

There are 4 parts to the documentary.Visit OneLoveForChi.com to watch the rest, keep up with Chi’s progress, and most importantly donate.
